Turnabout Stamping – Color Throwdown 477

Welcome back crafty friends. How is everyone’s week? Mine has been busy and we got a big dump of snow this week, so it’s been a “stay at home” kind of week.

I didn’t get to craft as much as I wanted, but I did get the time to make a card for the Color Throwdown this week!

The inspiration for this week was this awesome color palette of soft blue, orange and grey.

My first thoughts were for a masculine card or something with robots, but alas, I do not have any robot things right now!

Anyways, I finally got the opportunity to use my Concord & 9th triangle turnabout Stamp for this one! So much fun to use, and it creates a great result. I need a bigger stamping platform for this one, but I made do with the front of my Hampton Arts stamp perfect tool. It worked okay… I wish I could have gotten a better impression on the orange, but I also kind of like the imperfections.

I used the triangle turnabout for the background with the Altenews sea breeze and industrial diamond, and Hero Arts soft cantaloupe. The fourth I used Versamark with cooper embossing powder.

Then I took a piece of blue cardstock and cut it in a triangular piece along the panel. This is one of my go-to layouts for cards because it’s so simple and quick!

I used the thanks sentiment from The Stamp Markets double take set to stamp over the blue cardstock with versamark for a tone on tone look. I added a tiny strip of grey washi on the edge of the blue as well.

The I took a piece of white cardstock and smeared the orange ink over it to give me a matching panel for my sentiment. I triple heat embossed (ie- stamped- embossed, stamped-embossed, stamped -embossed) the thanks sentiment for some awesome dimension.

I then affixed the sentiment onto the panel, and then adhered the panel to a white card base. All done! This one was so much fun and I love the colour palette – I think the pop of copper gives it a little something extra too!
